
Dorothy Ann Deehring, 91, of Burlington, died at 9:35 PM on Monday, January 19, 2026, at the Klein Center in West Burlington.
Born September 4, 1934, in Toledo, OH, she was the daughter of Norman and Loretta Lehmkuhle Kramer. She became a Burlington resident in June 1969.
Dorothy was a secretary at Burlington Medical Center/Great River Health Systems for 28 years, retiring in 2005.
Besides being a caring mother and grandmother, always willing to lend a hand and an ear, Dorothy was an active member of Divine Mercy Parish, serving in several ministries and committees throughout the years. She was a long-time volunteer for Great River Hospice and the Burlington Public Library. In addition, she dedicated considerable support and participation in innumerable community organizations throughout her years. She will be dearly missed by all.
Survivors include five children, Walt (Beth) Deehring of Peoria, IL, Steven (Pauline Jansen) Deehring of Seattle, WA, Theresa (Russ) Peiffer of Polk City, IA, Jeff (Tracy) Deehring of Austin, TX, Eric (Therese Gehrke) Deehring of Green Bay, WI; 17 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews, and especially her niece Fran Hintz who was more like a younger sister; and sister-in-law, Vi Kramer of Waynesboro, VA.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings Mary, Dick and Ken and one great-grandchild Laken Deehring.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.
Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 24, 2026 at Divine Mercy Parish-St. Paul's Catholic Church.
The Memorial Mass of the Resurrection for Dorothy will be 11:00 AM Saturday, January 24, 2026, at Divine Mercy Parish-St. Paul's Catholic Church. A time of food and fellowship will be held in St. Paul's Fellowship Hall following the mass. Inurnment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
Memorials have been established for Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice, Burlington Public Library and KCDM Catholic Radio.
