Debra Gene Jackson, 73, of Mount Pleasant, Iowa, died Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at the Henry County Health Center in Mount Pleasant. Born April 5, 1952, in Los Angeles, California, she was the daughter of Sherman and Frances Nekritz.
She married Ricky Jackson in 1987.
Debra worked as a LVN/LPN for numerous years in California and Iowa. She enjoyed making jewelry, working out at the gym with Ricky, traveling and seeing the sights.
She was a true “Valley Girl” who loved the ocean, camping, fishing, seeing the Redwoods, all things wine and boating and certainly always a California girl.
She is survived by her son Tyler Jackson; long time companion and husband Ricky Jackson; two grandchildren Brantlee Jackson and Gabriel Jackson; brother Craig Nekritz; nieces Lacy Windham and Christina Nichols and nephews, Brett Windham and Ben Nekritz.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son Matthew Christian Jackson and her sister Sharon Windham.
There will be no services at this time. Cremation has been accorded and entrusted to the care of Lunning Chapel.
