Lisa Jean Shackleford, 40, of West Burlington, died suddenly Sunday, June 4, 2023, at Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center. As a registered organ donor, she was able to help numerous people through her generous gift.
Born Oct. 30, 1982, in Iowa City, she was the daughter of Dennis and Anne Klein Aney.
Lisa graduated from Burlington High School in 2001. She was a member of Divine Mercy Parish. She married Jason Shackleford on Sept. 3, 2005, in Burlington.
Lisa was a legal assistant at the Beckman Law Office for eight years. She was an avid reader and liked baking. She enjoyed going to the cabin on the river and hunting. She loved taking care of her family and her dog, Izzy.
Survivors include her husband Jason of West Burlington; two sons, Jesse Shackleford and Kyle Wisbey, both of West Burlington; her father Dennis Aney of Burlington; one sister Maria Aney of West Burlington; three brothers Adam (Heidi) Aney of Burlington, Daniel (Kellie) Aney of Burlington and Michael (Kirsten) Stastny of Poplar Grove, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Anne Aney, uncles Bob Klein and Bill Klein, aunt Barb Siegler, maternal grandparents, and paternal grandparents, and cousins Mary Christine Platz and Jade Klein.
The funeral service for Lisa will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday, June 10 at Lunning Chapel with the Very Rev. Father Marty Goetz officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, June 9, 2023, at Lunning Chapel.
Per Lisa’s wishes, cremation will be accorded after her services.
A memorial has been established in memory of Lisa for the family.
