Jeffrey Lee Grimes, 56, of Burlington, died Monday, Dec. 27, 2021, at the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House in West Burlington. Born December 24, 1965, in Burlington, he was the son of Donald L. and Joyce A. Metz Grimes. He married Lisa Lawlor; they later divorced. He then married Jamie Fair Stewart; they later divorced. Jeff worked in construction starting with Worley’s Asphalt and Paving, Mike Nelson Concrete Company, and DeLong Construction Company where he was superintendent. He is survived by his three children, Bailey Dunkin, Lea Grimes, and Matthew Grimes all of Burlington; two brothers, Scott Grimes of West Burlington and Duane Grimes of Lone Tree, Iowa; and two grandchildren. The visitation will be 4 until 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 30 at Lunning Chapel where the family will receive friends. A private family graveside committal will be held in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A memorial has been established.
