Margaret “Margie" E. Breuer, 82 of Cedar Falls, passed away Saturday, February 7, 2026. She was born February 23, 1943, in Burlington, Iowa, the daughter of Walden T. and Elizabeth Grace (Jones) Smith. She graduated from Mediapolis High School in 1961. She married William K. "Bill" Breuer in September of 1961.
She was an active member of the Wapello United Methodist Church where she enjoyed playing the organ. She was a member of the local PTO. Music and the Arts were a big part of Margie’s life. She enjoyed dancing and performing in her youth. She later volunteered as the choreographer for Mediapolis High School. Margie loved being a mom and grandma; family was very important to her. She was always involved in her kids' and grandkids' activities, helping and volunteering however she could. Margie shared her home with many pets (especially cats) throughout her lifetime. She also enjoyed an occasional McDonald's “Mocha Frappe” and loved playing cards (especially "The Quarter Game”) with her family.
She is survived by her children: Susan (Steven) Reneker of Palm Bay, FL, Joan (Leslie) Getz of La Porte City, IA, and Daniel (Kimberly) Breuer of Troutman, NC. 6 grandchildren: Jaymie (Ray) Reneker, Emily Getz, Abby (Andrew) Arthur, Hannah Getz, Ashlyn Breuer, and Kylie Breuer. Two sisters: Marilyn Seelinger and Walda (Jack) Gustafson. Sister-in-law: Janice (Steven) Cummings and brother-in-law, Robert (Diana) Breuer.
Margie is preceded in death by her husband, Bill, and son, David W. Breuer.
Graveside services will be held at a later date at Kossuth Cemetery, Mediapolis, Iowa, with a celebration of life to follow.
