Mike Mallette, 73, of Burlington, passed comfortably from this life to his next life on Monday, June 15, 2026, at the New London Specialty Care.
Born January 2, 1953, in Burlington, he was the son of Lloyd Henry and Yvonne Carlene Casten Mallette Jr. He was a 1973 graduate of Burlington High School.
Following his mother's retirement, Mike took over leadership of Central Printing Company. In addition to managing the printing business, he continued traveling and performing as a drummer with various bands and musical groups. During one of these engagements, he met Barb Taylor, and the two quickly fell in love. They were married on July 25, 1991, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Music was a lifelong passion and one of the greatest joys of Mike's life. His love for drumming began in elementary school, where he first discovered his talent behind the drum set. By the summer between his junior and senior years of high school, he was already performing professionally with JD Sumner and the Stamps Quartet and The Blackwood Brothers. Throughout the years, Mike traveled extensively with both local bands and nationally recognized groups, sharing his talent and enthusiasm for music with audiences across the country.
Music remained central to Mike's life, bringing him fulfillment, friendships, and countless cherished memories. When he wasn't behind a drum set, Mike also enjoyed another favorite pastime, golf and spent many happy years playing courses.
Survivors include his wife, Barb of Burlington; sister, Mollie (Jeff) Erickson of Burlington and step-sister, Pam Trautman of TX.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Yvonne (Jim) Eland and father, Lloyd (Nancy) Mallette.
