
Fran S.A. Meyer, 84, of Burlington, died Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center Hospice House in West Burlington.
Born on April 24, 1942, she was the daughter of Charles and Emma Hannon Harris. On December 23, 1960, in Burlington, she married Thomas H. Meyer. He preceded her in death on March 3, 2012.
Fran was a 1960 graduate of Burlington High School. She worked for Midwest Biscuit, and many years at Maples Egg Farm and Motorola where she retired from. But at the young age of 81 she took on her last job at Reiley and was laid off at 83. In her free time, she loved quilting, gardening, and read books by James Patterson. Most of all she loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her four children: Charles Meyer of Danville, Penny (J.D. Lohner) Meyer of Des Moines, IA, Todd Meyer and Eric Meyer both of Danville; grandson: Wade Meyer of Knobbnoster, MO, four great grandchildren: Bryce, Olivia, Levi and Ruby; two sisters: Peggy (Don) Goldsberry of Des Moines, and Naomi Kerns of New London. Also surviving are four nieces and nephews: Jenifer (Rob) Ramsey, Jeff (Terry) Johnson, Aaron Goldsberry and Andrea Jors.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Tom.
A visitation for Fran will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at Lunning Chapel, where the family will meet with friends.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 8, 2026, in Long Creek Cemetery with Pastor Danny Buck officiating.
