Esther Lucille Reconnu, 86, of Burlington, went home to be with the Lord on Nov. 28, 2023. She was born on July 14, 1937, in Charleroi, Penn. Esther was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She had a strong and unwavering belief in God and found comfort in her faith.
Esther is survived by her daughters, Kathleen Houlton (George) and Rebecca Grainger (Anthony). Also surviving are 3 Granddaughters and 6 Grandsons as well as 6 great grandsons and 1 great granddaughter. Additionally, Esther is survived by her son-in-law Gary Lasher (Susan).
Esther was preceded in death by her beloved husband Wilfred Reconnu Jr., her daughter Susan Lasher, her father Raymond "Huck" Dolan, her mother, Leona Carson Dolan, her sister Alice Dolan Hilton, and her brother, Raymond "Pudgy" Dolan Jr.
Esther was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church in Burlington. There she found solace, friendship, and community. She cherished her time spent worshipping and connecting with others who shared her faith.
In her free time, Esther enjoyed her daily personal Bible devotions, playing piano, reading, playing Phase 10 or Scrabble, and painting.
A celebration of life will be held on June 1, 2024 at Calvary Baptist Church. Service will start at 10 a.m. with family receiving friends one hour prior. Esther will be laid to rest at Mon Valley Memorial Park, alongside her husband in her home state of Pennsylvania.
Esther Lucille Reconnu will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her unwavering faith, loving nature, and heart-warming spirit will be forever cherished.
