Beatrice Ilene Frank, 96, was born on Aug. 25, 1926, in Iowa City, Iowa to Lloyd Walter and Eva Ruth Terhune Lincoln. Ilene died on Jan. 23, 2023. She was married to Donald R. Frank on Nov. 30, 1946 in Algona. Don died on Feb. 3, 2005, after 58 years of marriage.
Ilene graduated from West Branch High School in 1944. She graduated from Burlington Beauty Academy in 1946. She was a hairdresser for nearly 50 years, owning the West Hill Beauty Shop.
After her retirement, she remained very active. She volunteered at the Des Moines County Historical Society, served as a precinct chairperson for elections, conducted cooking classes at the Heritage Museum, and organized her family reunions and genealogy.
Survivors include his son, Warren Frank, sister Donna McIlrath of DeKalb, Ill., numerous nieces and nephews, and lifelong friends James Miller, DC, and Mary Rae Schnedler.
Funeral services for Ilene were held at the Lunning Chapel Friday, Jan. 27, 2023. Private burial will be held at Aspen Grove Cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and four siblings.
The family requests no flowers. A memorial fund has been established for the Des Moines County Historical Society.
