Dale Warren Stewart, 74, of West Burlington, passed away peacefully on Monday, Sept. 23, 2024, at the Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center.
Born July of 1950 in Burlington, he was the son of R.W. and Geneva Whitacre Stewart.
He was a 1968 graduate of West Burlington High School and attended the University of Northern Iowa after graduation. Before settling down in West Burlington to independently raise his daughter, he lived in the Quad Cities and Virginia Beach.
Dale dedicated nearly 25 years to working at Schaffer Golf Course in Fort Madison, which he enjoyed immensely. Outside of golf, Dale enjoyed spending time with friends and the simple pleasures in life; such as sweet treats, Iowa tenderloins with Sterzing's potato chips, and watching the St. Louis Cardinals.
Survivors include his daughter, Lucia Jackson of Cincinnati, OH; grandson, Oscar Franklin; twin brother, Dave Stewart of West Burlington; older brother, John (Jody) Stewart of Lenexa, Kan.; and older sister, Linda Davies of Wichita, Kan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law, Smith Davies and a few radical friends who meant a lot to him.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.
A Celebration of Life for Dale will be Saturday, Nov. 2, 2024, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Boogaloo Cafe.
