Richard Arthur "Rich" Jaeger, 81, of Burlington, died Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at the Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in West Burlington. Born May 3, 1943, in Burlington, Iowa, he was the son of Raymond and Helen Jaeger. He served in the Navy during the Vietnam War.
He married Catherine Baldridge in 1968 and became the parents to Scott, they later divorced. He then married May Mason in 1987, they became the parents to Amy, they later divorced.
Rich was a supervisor for Carl A. Nelson for over 30 years and traveled extensively with his work. He loved fishing and anything outdoors, woodworking, carpentry and enjoying a Bud Light or a blackberry brandy at the VFW. But above everything, he enjoyed his time spent with his children, family and friends.
He is survived by his two children; Scott (Cynnamon Crabb) Jaeger and Amy (Dylan Keller) Jaeger; four grandchildren, Dylan Jaeger, Chayce Jaeger, Chloe Lightfoot and Ethan Danforth; great grandson Jasper Jaeger; three sisters, Edith Jaeger, Donna Hull and Diana Jackson and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers Chuck Jaeger, Don “Skip” Jaeger and Fred Jaeger, nephews David Jaeger, Brian Hull and niece Allison Sturgill.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 18 at Lunning Chapel where the family will receive friends. Full military honors will be conducted by the Burlington Area Veterans Honor Guard at 1 p.m. Tuesday, November 19 at Lunning Chapel. Burial will be in Burlington Memorial Park Cemetery.
