Darell D. Pentzel, 68, of Winfield died Saturday, August 20, 2022, in Des Moines.&nbsp;

Born July 3, 1954, in Burlington he was the son of James and Lillian Feehan Pentzel. Darell married Barb Carroll in 1998. They were married for 20 years. She preceded him in death in June 2018.&nbsp;

Darell attended West Burlington Arnold High School. He was enlisted in the US Army from 1973 to 1979.&nbsp;

Darell worked at Tyson and Freuhoff in Fort Madison. Most recently he worked in janitorial services at the Veterans Hospital in Iowa City for 7 years.&nbsp;

Darell was liked by everybody. He would do anything for anybody, and he loved kids.&nbsp;

Survivors include two sisters; Marie of Burlington and Mary of Cedar Falls; special friend Lois of Batavia; numerous nieces and nephews.&nbsp;

A celebration of life will be held at the Veterans Administration Medical Center Chapel, 601 Highway 6 West, Iowa City, Ia. 52246.&nbsp;

The graveside service for Darell will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 31, at Keokuk National Cemetery. Full military rites will be rendered.&nbsp;
