James Allen "Jim" Imthurn II, 58, of LaHarpe, Ill. died at 6:04 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 11, 2025, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Ill.
Jim was born April 18, 1967, in Tucson, Ariz. the son of James and Sharon James Imthurn. He spent his early childhood years in the Tucson area and later moved to the Blandinsville, Ill. area. He graduated from Northwestern High School in 1985. On Aug. 23, 1997, he married Joni Jones at the Abundant Life Church in LaHarpe. She survives.
Jim was employed at Vaughn & Bushnell Manufacturing in Bushnell, Ill., for 16 years and for the past 4 years was employed at Titan Foundry in Hamilton, Ill. He also worked at Oak Grove Hog Barn for the Sheetz Family for 5 years. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, spending time with his family, attending church, playing bags, fishing, harvesting and selling Ginseng roots, and his Thursday night campfires.
Survivors include his wife: Joni Imthurn; three sons: Alex Gooden, Jeremy Imthurn, and Brayden Imthurn; one daughter: Cheyenne Imthurn; three grandchildren: Ashlynn, Avery, and Elliot; four sisters: Julia Pitts, Jennifer Imthurn, Theresa Manning, and Joangela Kiley; and several nieces and nephews.
He was proceeded in death by his parents and a son: Zachary Jones.
Jim’s funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 20, 2025, at the Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe, with Rev. Rick Goettsche officiating. Burial will follow at the LaHarpe Cemetery.
Friends may call after 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19, 2025, at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe, where the family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m.
A memorial fund has been established for the family of Jim Imthurn.
