David A. Reed, 73, of Burlington, died Monday, April 18, 2022, at his home.
Born September 3, 1948, in LaHarpe, Ill., he was the son of Richard “Dick” and Adah L. Shafer Reed.
David graduated from Danville High School in 1967. He served in the United States Army. He was of the Christian Faith.
He worked at JI Case, and then later was an over-the-road truck
driver. He spent his retirement years working at Hope Haven Development
Center.
David loved to hunt for rocks and arrowheads, gardening and enjoyed
working on cars. He loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his daughters, Jamie (Darren) Sturdivant of
Farmington, and Sara (Ryan) Garland of Middletown; four
grandchildren, Lane, Audrey, Marley, Ethan; and one brother, Todd Reed of
Burlington, IA.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Family will receive friends Sunday, April 24, 2022, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at Lunning Chapel.
Cremation has been accorded and entrusted to Lunning Chapel.
A Memorial has been established.
