Robert "Bob" Rady, 77, of Burlington, died Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice in West Burlington.

Born March 30, 1947, in Burlington, he was the son of William Charles and Hazel Marie Rollins Rady. On Aug. 30, 1973, he married Sharon Kylene Peterson in Lomax, Ill.. 

He was a U.S. Navy Veteran, serving during the Vietnam War from April 6, 1964 until April 6, 1970.

Bob worked for the City of Burlington in the Street Department for many years and he later drove the City Bus. 

He was of Christian Faith. Bob enjoyed watching sprint car racing and watching his great-grandson race his go-cart. He also enjoyed watching sports and was an avid Cub's Fan. He loved to spend time outdoors, camping and fishing. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon Kylene Rady of Burlington; one son, Michael Peterson of Oquawka; two daughters, Molly (Andy) Kerr of Sperry and Melissa McIntire of Stronghurst, IL; two grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his father and mother in law, daughter-in-law, Chris Peterson and granddaughter, Alicia Pence.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. with the family to receive friends, Saturday, June 8, 2024, at Prugh Funeral Service, 3940 Division Street.

The funeral service for Mr. Rady will be 10 a.m. Saturday, June 8, 2024, at Prugh Funeral Service, 3940 Division Street. Burial will be in Carman Cemetery.  Full military honors will be rendered by the Biggsville Ill. Legion Post 1176.

A memorial has been established.
