Robinette Sue Shanklin, 72, of Burlington, died Feb. 3, 2025, with her son and granddaughter by her side. She was born Nov. 11, 1952, in Burlington. She lived, loved, and created an amazing legacy. 

Robin was very artistic and giving and loved hanging out with her kids and grandkids and attending their events. She was the true Matriarch of her family. She loved listening to Christmas music all year long as well as 50’s and 60’s music. She enjoyed all things Sci-Fi and fantasy.

Her survivors include two children, Jaymee Apolinario and Jaycob McCampbell (fiancé Audrey Gerst); eight grandchildren, Krystal Altemus, Victoria Altemus, Jayde Apolinario and her fiancé Kiandra Baylark., Judith Altemus, Cynthia (Punk) Altemus, Liam Gerst, Ronan and Avi McCampbell. Robin was preceded in death by her parents Shirley and Carl Bailey; and Eleven great-grandchildren: Kaydyn, Aydrian, Jonathan, Benton, Emori, Rinoa, Lawrence, Danycia, Xavier, Sophia, and Auriauna. Other survivors include two nieces, Wayann and Carie; one nephew and one great niece; and two brothers. She also leaves behind one sister/best friend: Anna Boughton, and lifelong friend Mario Fiori.

Robinette loved all those she met and all those she met loved her. She will never be forgotten, and she lives on in us!

A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 5, 2025, at the Local #807 Union Hall, 9313 Koestner Street, Burlington. We will be having food pictures and music that represents her loves and time for the kids to play because above all else she loved to hear them laugh and have fun.

A memorial has been established for the family.
