Susan Johnson, 77, of Wever, died Sunday, Dec. 18, 2022, at the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice in West Burlington from a sudden onset of cancer. She fought a courageous battle.

Born Aug. 5, 1945, in Burlington, she was the daughter of John and Mary Schulthies. On May 24, 1974, she married Robert Johnson in Illinois.&nbsp;

She worked for Hope Haven as marketing director and then later became a day program manager for Flexible Services in Mount Pleasant. Susan worked for Hope Haven for over thirty years. Throughout her career, she cared for so many individuals with handicaps and developmental disabilities.&nbsp;

Susan obtained her pilot's license. She was also a former realtor in Southeast Iowa. Susan had a huge love of horses and enjoyed going horseback riding, boating, and golfing. She liked motorcycles and gardening.&nbsp;

Survivors include her husband, Robert Johnson of Wever; daughter, Lisa (Johnson) Myers; son, John Johnson; and sister, Elaine Fuller.

Besides her parents John and Mary Schulthies, she was preceded in death by her brother, Edward John Schulthies.

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been made for Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice in Susan's name.&nbsp;
