Virginia DeLashmutt, 92, of Burlington, died Friday, Dec. 23, 2022.
Born May 25, 1930, in Wichita, Kan., she was the daughter of Charles Edward and Helen Young Caster. On May 23, 1976, she married Charles Michael DeLashmutt in Burlington. He died Oct. 26, 2013.
She was a graduate of Burlington High School in 1948. She later obtained her Associate's Degree.
Virginia worked for the US Government for 30 1/2 years.
Virginia was a member of Temple Israel, Historical Preservation Society, and Heritage Trust. She was intelligent, kind, and thoughtful. She enjoyed decorating her home including window treatments, upholstering furniture, and her impeccable landscaped yard.
Survivors include her daughter, Priscilla Maurer of Burlington; step-daughter, Sara (Tom) DeLashmutt-Ward and step-son, Thomas M. DeLashmutt both of Colorado; grandchildren, Grace Ward and Sophie Ward.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.
A Private Graveside Committal Service for Mrs. DeLashmutt will be in the Burlington Jewish Cemetery.
A memorial has been established in her name.
