 Charles Harvey Easley, 72, died at his home on Jan. 4, 2023.

He was born in Selmer, Tenn. January 8, 1950, son of the late Dewell Harvey Easley and Hazel Pusser Easley Shoemaker. He grew up in Burlington.

He worked for 5 years at Mason and Hanger Ammunition Plant and then for General Electric for 5 years in Burlington. He married Susan Rae Ballard Jan. 20, 1968. They moved to Jackson in 1978 and he began working for I.T.T. 

He then worked for Markham and Hardin Flooring for several years. He then became a truck driver in 1993 and soon began driving for American Freightways, and then FedEx for 20 years before retiring.

He enjoyed carpentry and remodeling. He also liked hunting rabbit and squirrels.

He is survived by his wife, Susan Easley; three daughters, Sherry Bullman of Henderson, Tenn., Tina Schucker of Henderson, Tenn., and Susan Nicole Easley of Terra Haute, Ind.; two brothers, Wayne Easley of Burlington, Steve Shoemaker of Burlington; three sisters, Diane Roberts, Teresa Twidwell, and Beverly Shoemaker all of Henderson, Tenn.; eight grandchildren, Lessie Cupples, Justin Bullman, Elizabeth Avila, Rebecca McLaughlin, Nathaniel Schucker, Silas Winsted, Samuel Winsted, and Walker Winsted; and great-grandchildren, Michael Cupples, Catalina Avila, Rowan McLaughlin, Kash Cupples, Aries Cupples, and Anakin Cupples.

He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Maurice Shoemaker; brother, Danny Shoemaker and Gerald Shoemaker, and sister, Marilyn Williams.

Funeral services were Saturday, Jan. 7 at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with Tony Twidwell, Bobby Langford, and Rebecca McLaughlin officiating. Burial will follow in Chester County Memory Gardens.
