Chad Michael Carlson, 45, of Burlington, died Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
Born September 10, 1980, he was the son of Ricky Carlson and Dianne Nichols Scholler.
Chad worked for General Electric in addition to construction, roofing and car detailing. He most recently worked for the Bargain Warehouse in West Burlington.
He absolutely loved basketball, especially the LA Lakers, and would monitor the stats for the West Burlington Falcons. He was an avid sports fan and was devoted to the Dallas Cowboys, the St. Louis Cardinals and against his nurse’s best judgement in Iowa City; Michigan. Chad had a huge heart and leaves behind many, many friends, he truly never knew a stranger.
He is survived by his parents, Rick Carlson and Dianne and Rick Scholler; two sisters, Stephanie (James) King and Brooke Foreman; nieces and nephews Aspen and Oliver King and Arthur and Watson Kottke and his beloved dog and best friend Romo.
He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, infant brother Nicholas, cousin Heather Nichols, uncles Jeff and Tim Nichols, and aunts Sallie Nichols and Linda Miller.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 16, at Lunning Chapel, where the family will receive friends. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m.
A memorial has been established for the West Burlington Athletics Department.
