Iowna Kay West, 85, formerly of Burlington, died Friday, November 18, 2022.
Kay was born December 28, 1936, the daughter of John Christian and Mable Ione Brent Russell.
Kay began her career at age 15 at K & R Grocery on Main Street, Kroeger, and retired from Hy-Vee on Agency after 37 years.
Kay is survived by her children Pam (Larry), Rhonda (Richard), Fred (Abby), Walter (Seanne), Curt (Kellie), and Carla West Shannon; grandchildren, Patty (Casey), Amy (Jeff), Amanda (Brandon), Crystal (Thom), NaTasha (Neil), Tyler (Rachel), Heidi (Cole), Kayla (Adam), Katie, Whitney (Dan) Kaycie (Gabe), Jamie (Dan), Kiley; great-grandchildren, Ashleigh (Andrew), Kayleigh, Hunter, Hudson, Alyssa, Tanner, Caleb, Lauren, Preston, Colton, Calia, Peyton, Ella, Kennedy, Ethan, Nolan, Paisley, Buchanon, Logan, Kaylee, Karter, Brantley, Thea, Ava, Ari, Chloe, Skylar, Aiden, Kiley, and Great Great Granddaughter Layla. Kay is survived by her sister Ruth Dirth, along with many nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law Sandy and Connie Russell; and her Pomeranian “Dreamer” who she lovingly called her baby.
Kay is preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Ora Faye Cole, and five brothers, Melvin, Harold Dean, Robert, Tom, and Donald Russell, former husband Fred West, and grandson Jordon West.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. with the family to receive friends Tuesday, November 22, at Prugh Funeral Service, 3940 Division St.
The funeral service for Mrs. West will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 22, at Prugh Funeral Service, 3940 Division St. A time of food and fellowship will be held in the community room at Prugh Funeral Service following the service. Burial will be in Latty Cemetery at a later date.
