Marion C. Hodges, 82, of Burlington, died Sunday, Dec. 8, 2024, at Azria Prairie Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Mediapolis. Born Aug. 14, 1942, in Salem, Ohio, she was the daughter of Lawrence and Madge Holloway. She married Gerald A. Hodges on Oct. 23, 1965 in Arlington, Vir.
Marion worked for Landsberg Department Store in Washington D.C. and later in the banking industry for 41 years, finally retiring from Farmers and Merchants Bank and Trust in 2013.
She enjoyed cross stitching, gardening and was an excellent cook. Marion loved and enjoyed decorating her home for the holidays.
She is survived by her husband Gerald Hodges of Burlington; daughter Kelly C. Hodges of Burlington; sisters-in-law; Cinda Dow of Friday Harbor, Wash., Linda Rudicil of Quincy, Ill., Sandra Shackelford of West Plains, Mo. and Imogene Cormier of Winter Haven. Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, half-brother and half-sister.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec.12 at Simple Gatherings in Middletown. The family will receive friends from 12 to 1 p.m.
