Bonita K. “Bonnie” Marshall, 82, of Macomb, Illinois, formerly of Sperry, Iowa, died Sunday, February 15, 2026, at the McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.

Born on June 5, 1943, in Illinois, she was the daughter of Merritt and Norma (Bayles) Yelton. On April 3, 1963, in Sciota, Illinois, she married David C. Marshall. He preceded her in death on July 18, 2020.

Bonnie was a 1961 graduate of Sciota High School. She worked as a certified nurses assistant for several nursing homes in the local area. Bonnie loved her pets, especially her black lab Sadie Mae, Ragdoll kitty Gracie, and all the Chihuahua dogs she had throughout the years. In her free time, she enjoyed playing bingo, watching game shows and going to karaoke with her daughter. Bonnie also loved to relax with a good book, which she instilled in her children. Most of all, Bonnie loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her three children: Laurie McBride of Sperry, Iowa, Dan (Anne) Marshall of Burlington, and Brian Marshall of Durango, Colorado; grandson Dusty (Haley) Smith and great grandchildren: Madi and Kendrick; siblings: Janey (Don) Westermeyer, Barb Knell, Aaron (Terri) Yelton and Ina (Mike) Hammond. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband David, two sisters: Carolyn McCance and Nina Moshage; son in-law Eugene McBride and two brother’s in-law: Gerald McCance and Don Waller.

Per her wishes, cremation has been entrusted and accorded to the care of Lunning Chapel.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at the Eagles Club in Burlington.
