Today (Jan. 25)
• Midwinter Eagle Count begins at 10 a.m. at the Port of Burlington Welcome Center for an educational program, then will move to Lock and Dam 18 in Illinois to count eagles. All are welcome, but transportation will not be provided.
Sunday (Jan. 26)
• Donation Yoga will be at 9:30 a.m. Homestead 1839, 701 E. Agency Road.
• Bridal Fair and Event Expo from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Pzazz! Convention and Event Center. Brides, wedding and event planners will be on hand, offering their services.
• Winter Celebration, the first event in the Toolesboro Touchstone series, is 1 to 3 p.m. at Toolesboro Mounds and Museum, National Historic Landmark, 6568 Toolesboro Ave., Wapello. The gathering will feature seasonal prehistoric activities, such as making stick or antler snow snakes, tasting of maple syrup snow candy and winter games. The cost is $2 per family. Monday (Jan. 27)
• Homemade Hummus will be from 11 a.m. to noon at the Burlington Public Library. Spend your lunch hour learning to make this nutrition-packed snack that dates to ancient Egypt. This class is free and open to the public; please call the library or register online to ensure sufficient materials for all participants.
• Glow Pound Fitness will be from 5:15 to 6:15 p.m. at the Burlington YMCA. Enjoy a jam session that turns a drum session into a fitness session. Free for Y members; open to the public with the purchase of a day pass.
Wednesday (Jan. 29)
• Liquid Flow Yoga from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Bent River Brewing Company. The alcohol friendly yoga class is $10, which pays for the class and a beer, or other beverage, and you’re welcome to bring your own water. Please bring a mat and anything you need for yoga. www.burlingtonbentriver.com
Friday (Jan. 31)
• Chicago’s premier event band, The 9s, will play at 10 p.m. at Boogaloo Sports Bar and Grill. The event is for those 21-years-old and over, and there is no cover charge.
