Police Investigating Friday Evening Shooting

Burlington police are investigating an incident Friday evening that resulted in a 21-year-old being shot in the leg.

At 9:22 p.m. Friday, police officers responded to a report of multiple shots fired in the area of 235 S. Ninth St. in Burlington, according to a press release received at 3:37 a.m. Saturday. Upon arrival, officers discovered an individual involved in the incident left the scene in a vehicle.

Police said the vehicle was located a short time later and inside was a 21-year-old male who had been shot in the leg. The individual was transported by ambulance to Great River Medical Center in West Burlington for treatment.

At South Ninth and Aetna streets officers located multiple shell casings and bullet holes in a residence. Burlington police detectives were called in to process the scene. Detectives collected shell casings and spoke to several people concerning the shooting.
