A woman calling for help while submerged in the Mississippi River at about 7:15 p.m. Sunday night (March 28) by the Port of Burlington was rescued by emergency responders.
According to Burlington police, the woman was rescued within about 20 minutes of the initial call.
Burlington police officials said the woman was taken to Great River Medical Center in West Burlington but did not appear to suffer significant injuries.
According to police, a bystander at the Port of Burlington heard a woman yelling for help from the river and immediately contacted authorities. Burlington police and fire departments quickly put a boat in the water to save the woman, whose name was not released Sunday night
