Sally J. Bright, 74, of Burlington, died Friday, Feb. 9, 2024, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
Born Aug. 18, 1949, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Ray Jordan and Ruth Marie Parmeter Hill. She married Charles “Chuck” Bright on Oct. 13, 1973, in Burlington.
Sally worked for Winegard Co. before co-owning and operating The Dugout Lounge alongside her sister Mac and brother-in-law Jeff for many years until they sold the business in 2000. She then began working for Farm King for 18 years until her retirement.
She was a member of Divine Mercy Parish.
Sally loved having fun and always enjoyed her time with her family and her dogs. She loved fishing and spending time at the family cabin on Thompson Island and took great joy in working her iPad, whether it was watching her favorite shows, the Hallmark Channel, or keeping up with the area gossip and news on the community Facebook pages. Her day was never complete without her fountain Pepsi from Circle K and she was an avid Iowa Hawkeyes fan and a die-hard Chicago Cubs fan. Sally even enjoyed following politics and stated she believed her dad had instilled her patriotism and love for her country.
