Deanna L. Thele, 70, of Burlington, Iowa, died Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at Savannah Heights in Mount Pleasant, Iowa.

Born on September 30, 1955, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Bryan and Lois Martin Lewis.

Deanna was a graduate of West Burlington High School. She worked at Samules Jewelers for many years before she became a stay-at-home mother. Deanna enjoyed working out and attending Thai Chi classes at the Burlington YMCA. She was a member of the Burlington Moose Lodge and always could be found dancing with her friends. Most of all Deanna loved nothing more than spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren who were extra special to her. She also loved being around her grand-dogs.

She is survived by her two children: Dan (Carolyn) Thele of Fairmont, W.V., and Lisa (Heath) McPherson of Mt Pleasant; five grandchildren: Hayleigh, Hayden, Liam, and Lorelei McPherson and Hildegard Thele; three siblings: Mike Lewis, Cindy Garrels, and Becky (Rick) Buford. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother in-law David Garrels.

Per her wishes cremation has been entrusted and accorded to the care of Lunning Chapel.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Burial will be held in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
