Timothy M. Grant, 64, died Monday, July 17, 2023, at Genesis Medical Center, in Davenport, Iowa.
Born March 28, 1959, in Wood River, Illinois, he was the son of Oscar and Nellie (Fox) Grant Hellemeyer. He married Lisa Brunk on May 16, 1998.
Tim earned his master’s degree from American International University in Business Administration and Healthcare Management and worked as a Medical Technologist for over 40 years, ending his career as a lab manager. In addition, he had been a substitute teacher for the Dallas City and Central Illinois public school system and taught one semester at Southeastern Community College. He was an Army veteran.
Tim enjoyed making crafts and sold them at many shows, most recently at the Very Vintage Market held in downtown Burlington. He loved fishing and Sci-Fi. He was a very giving and generous man to all that knew him, he was patient with teaching people to do things and was “wicked smart”. Tim always tried to do for others.
He is survived by his wife, Lisa Grant of Danville; his daughter, Carmen Grant of Warsaw, Ill.; two grandchildren, Kyler Grant Leonard and Mili Willing; his mother, Nellie Hellemeyer of Fort Madison; sister, Stacy Grant (Brian Gistover) of Fort Madison; brother, Tom (Michelle) Grant of Pierron, Ill.; mother and father-in-law, Steven and Beverly Brunk of Danville; brother-in-law, Troy (Allison) Brunk of Cedar Rapids; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews and his three furry kids, Remi, Quincy, Tipper.
He was preceded in death by his father, paternal and maternal grandparents and sister-in-law Mary Grant.
Visitation with family present will be 5 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, July 20 at Lunning Chapel. The Burlington Area Veterans Honor Guard will conduct military rites at 7 p.m. According to his wishes, cremation will be accorded following the visitation. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery at a later date.
