Terry Lee Southerland, 71, of Burlington, died Sunday, February 1, 2026, at the Wapello Nursing and Specialty Care in Wapello, Iowa.
Born August 27, 1954, in Burlington, Iowa, he was the son of Charles Raymond and Anna Mae Southerland.
He married Janet Magner, they later divorced.
Terry was a truck driver for several years, in addition to farming and helping at a hog confinement and served in the Navy.
He was a great farmer, loved gardening, fishing, woodworking in his garage, being outdoors and enjoying nature. He loved watching nature and animal shows.
He is survived by his children; Phillip Charles, Michael, Tiffany and Timothy; siblings, Barbara (Joe) Foster, Steven (Mary) Hester, Christine (Michael) Dwight, Roxanne (Tony) Bennett, Mary Lou (Phillip) Lott, Diane (Jack) Gomez, Wayne (Carrie) Hester and Charles Hester.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son Tristan and siblings, Valerie, Teresa, Patty and Margie.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Cremation has been accorded and entrusted to the care of Lunning Chapel.
