John Floyd Hester, 80, of Burlington died Friday, July 1, 2022 at his sister’s home.&nbsp;

Born May 16, 1942 in Burlington, he was the son of John Earl and Charlotte Sodergren Hester.&nbsp;

John was a Truck Driver for Winegard Company for many years.&nbsp; John loved to travel. He was a history and movie buff. He loved his cats, Bridgit, Chloe, Tommy, Andre, and Ginger. He enjoyed landscaping and yard work.&nbsp;

Survivors include his children Robin (Roger) Nevling of Monmouth, Lisa (Dave) Patrick of Wapello, Michele (Kenny) Powell of Wapello, and John Hester of Burlington; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; one sister Carolyn Fullenkamp of Burlington.&nbsp;

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son Mark Rice and one grandson Andrew Palmer.

&nbsp;A graveside service and inurnment for John will be 3 p.m., Thursday, July 7 at Burlington Memorial Park Cemetery. Pastor Ryan Cosgrove will officiate.&nbsp;

Per his wishes, cremation has been accorded and entrusted to the care of Lunning Chapel.&nbsp;
