
John Floyd Hester, 80, of Burlington died Friday, July 1, 2022 at his sister’s home.
Born May 16, 1942 in Burlington, he was the son of John Earl and Charlotte Sodergren Hester.
John was a Truck Driver for Winegard Company for many years.
John loved to travel. He was a history and movie buff. He loved his cats, Bridgit, Chloe, Tommy, Andre, and Ginger. He enjoyed landscaping and yard work.
Survivors include his children Robin (Roger) Nevling of Monmouth, Lisa (Dave) Patrick of Wapello, Michele (Kenny) Powell of Wapello, and John Hester of Burlington; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; one sister Carolyn Fullenkamp of Burlington.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son Mark Rice and one grandson Andrew Palmer.
A graveside service and inurnment for John will be 3 p.m., Thursday, July 7 at Burlington Memorial Park Cemetery. Pastor Ryan Cosgrove will officiate.
Per his wishes, cremation has been accorded and entrusted to the care of Lunning Chapel.
