Paul L. Schenck, 66, of Disco, Ill., passed away at 9:07 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, 2024 at Memorial Hospital in Carthage, Ill.
Paul was born June 3, 1958, in Monmouth, Ill., the son of Russell and Vera Todd Schenck. On June 6, 1987, he married Joanna Owsley in LaHarpe. She survives.
Paul was a 1977 graduate of LaHarpe High School. During high school, he worked for King-Seeley Corporation. After graduation, he worked for Fruehauf Corporation for a short time before enlisting in the U.S. Marine Corps. Following his Honorable Discharge, he returned to Fruehauf’s before beginning a career at Case in Burlington, retiring in 2019.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, mowing the yard, and especially his granddaughter. He was a member of the UAW Local #807.
Besides his wife, survivors include three children: Russell (Kelly) Schenck of LaHarpe, Daniel (Barbara) Schenck of Burlington, Iowa, and Melissa (Tyler) Monroe of Burlington; two granddaughters: Kim and Scarlett and one brother: Tod (Marlene) Schenck of Elkton, Maryland.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers: Chris, Rocky and David Schenck.
Friends may call after 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2024, at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe, where the family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m.
The funeral service for Paul will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 10, 2024 at Banks & Beals in LaHarpe, with Rev. Jim Clayton officiating. Burial with Military Rites will follow in LaHarpe Cemetery.
A memorial fund has been established for the family.
