George Vaughn, 80, of Wapello, Iowa, passed away on Friday, June 27, 2025, at his home in Wapello.   Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at the Wapello Cemetery.  Following the service, a Celebration of Life will be held at Woosters.    In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to the family in memory of George.  The Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral and Cremation Services of Wapello is caring for the family.  Online condolences may be left at www.sandhfuneralservice.com.  

George Allen Vaughn was born on February 4, 1945, in Mount Pleasant, Iowa, the son of Harold and Pearl (Griest) Vaughn.   On August 2, 1961 he was united in marriage to Anna Beeding.  George worked for 24 years at Klein Manufacturing and 14 years at Fullerton until his retirement. He was a member of the “Cedar River Gang” and the “Garage Boys,” a band made up of him, his brother, and his friends.  George loved country western music and playing his guitar.  He also enjoyed road trips to visit family, making rings and woodworking, making planters, sheds, and his famous octagon picnic tables. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family.       
George will be deeply missed by his wife Anna of Wapello; children, Ramona (Lee) Hainey of Wapello, Jackie Cover of Nichols, Catricia (Jeff) Sinn of Wayland and Mark (Cindy) Wehrle of Wapello, Kathy Thomason , Melinda Hoover and Wendi Noble, all of Stronghurst, IL; 17 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren,  sister, Dalena Vaughn; brother, Darrell Vaughn and many nieces, nephews and extended family. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Kevin Vaughn; grandsons, Jeremy Hoover and Josh Good; granddaughter, Kimberly Huppenbauer; siblings, Roberta Vaughn, Ramona Simmons, Jean Duncan, Dick Vaughn, Shirley McDowell, Patricia Palmer, Harold ‘Rick” Vaughn and Robert Vaughn and son-in-law, Greg Cover.
