Vicki Jolene Klossing-Bredar, age 60, of Burlington, passed away Saturday, March 23, 2024, at the Klein Center in West Burlington.  She was born May 8, 1963, in Macomb, Ill., the daughter of Otis “Lee” and Barbara Danner Klossing.  On Sept. 3, 1994, she married Michael Bredar in Stronghurst, Ill.
Vicki was a 1981 graduate of Southern High School and later graduated from Robert Morris College in Carthage, Ill.  She was a bookkeeper for many years prior to starting a family, and then was a stay-at-home mom until her kids started school.  For nearly twenty years, She was the “Kids Bank” Director at F&M Bank in Burlington.  She worked at all the local elementary schools, working with the students operating a “kids bank”.  She took great pride in working with the kids and teaching them how to save.  She loved it when her former “kids bank” students would recognize her as the “Bank Lady” and share a memory of their student bank days.
Vicki loved to volunteer in the community.  For many years, she volunteered at the Salvation Army, Burlington Community Schools, the BHS Booster Club, as well as being a loyal team mom for whatever team her kids were part of.  She took great pride in watching her kids, nieces and nephews performing on a team, dance, play or recital.  She was always there to support them.
Vicki was a wonderful wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend.  She was dedicated to her family and friends and was always ready to provide a meal, gift, or other recognition for someone in need. Her beautiful brown eyes and contagious smile lit up any room she was in.  During the past two years, while living at the Klein Center Memory Care Unit, everyone commented on her big smile and laugh.
Survivors include her husband: Mike, her mother: Barb Klossing of Stronghurst, Ill., one daughter: Danielle (and Fiancé Jonah Marlow) Bredar of Burlington, one son: Matthew Bredar also of Burlington, three brothers: Monte Klossing of Raritan, Ill., Boyd (Sue) Klossing of Chandler, Ariz., Tyler (Emily) Klossing of Media, Ill., and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her father and grandparents.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Stronghurst.  A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 27 at Banks & Beals.  Burial will follow in the Stronghurst Cemetery.  Memorials have been established for the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson Research and Southeast Iowa Regional Home Health & Hospice.
