Rosa Mary “Rose” Yeiter, affectionately named after her father’s mother, aged 77, died Monday, May 26, 2025, at the Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in West Burlington. Born August 29, 1947, in Keokuk, Iowa, she was the daughter of Bernard and Vera Stehl Miller. She married Milton Yeiter on September 21, 1969, at St. Patrick Catholic Church.

She was a 1965 graduate of Kahoka High School and graduated from the Burlington Beauty Academy.

Rose worked for many years as a hairdresser in various salons including Sunnyside Beauty Shop.

She lovingly attended St. Patrick Catholic Church until its closure and was a member of Divine Mercy Parish.

She served on the advisory board for St. Francis Nursing Home and was a member of the River City Corvette Association along with her husband. They attended many car shows and events over the years.

She enjoyed gardening and freezing and canning the produce they grew.  She took pride in calling people, sending them cards on their birthdays and loved socializing and going out to supper. Rose was so excited when microwaves became a “thing” that she took classes to learn how to cook and bake with them, and she did so perfectly!

Survivors include her husband, Milton Yeiter; daughter Teresa (Andy) Youngquist; grandson Evan Youngquist (Dani Benjamin), a nephew and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Larry Broomhall and sister Joy Lillard.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 29 at Lunning Chapel where the family will receive friends. The funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 30 at Lunning Chapel. The Rev. Father Jake Greiner will officiate. Burial will follow in Aspen Grove Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, c/o PO BOX 91891, Washington D.C. 20090-1891 or to Players Workshop.
