Rosemary "Rose" Ervine, 76, of Burlington, died Thursday, June 22, 2023, at the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House in West Burlington.

Born April 2, 1947, in Quincy, Ill., she was the daughter of Henry and Mary Tanner Hierstein. On Jan. 20, 1968, she married James Michael Ervine in Burlington. He died Dec. 23, 2010.

She was a front desk clerk at the Best Western and Pzazz! hotels for over 20 years.&nbsp;

Rose enjoyed working in her yard and gardening. She also liked to spend time with her granddaughter.&nbsp;

Survivors include her son, Douglas Ervine of Burlington; granddaughter, Alexandria Rose Ervine of Linn Grove;&nbsp; sister, Ramona (Mark) Hummelsheim of Quincy, Ill.; brother, Paul Hierstein of Lumberton, Miss.; and niece and nephews, Sara and Matt Hummelsheim both of Quincy, Ill.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, James Hierstein.

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.

There will be no visitation or services. She will be laid to rest with her husband at a later date in West Virginia.
