Larry J. Warth, 71, of Sperry, died Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at his home.

Born Aug. 25, 1951 in Chicago, Ill., he was the son of Milo and Mary Kludy Warth. He married Rhonda Jones on June 27, 1970.

Larry was a farmer in addition to working for J.I. Case until his retirement in 2002. After his retirement he worked part-time for Wilbert Vault Works Inc.

Farming was Larry’s passion. He served on the Sperry Elevator Board of Directors for many years. He loved attending Snow Bull and served on the board of directors. He was active with the Des Moines County Fair and served on many fair committees along with multiple saddle club boards. He was a little league coach and attended all of the sports and activities of his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Rhonda Warth of Sperry; his children, Tim (Nakay) Warth and Tina (Jeff) Linden both of Sperry; grandson, Cody (Courtney) Warth and two great-granddaughters, Saige Warth and Adalyn Warth.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson Ty Warth and his father and mother-in-law Merl and Opal Jones.

Memorials have been established for the Des Moines County Fair for 4H Activities and Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice.

According to his wishes, cremation has been accorded and entrusted to the care of Lunning Chapel. A celebration of life will be held at the family farm, Sunday June 18, from 1 to 3 p.m. &nbsp;
