The Burlington Bees extended their winning streak to three games Thursday night by sweeping the Springfield Lucky Horseshoes, 6-4 and 3-1, at Community Field.

On Saturday, all active duty military personnel and military veterans will be admitted free to the 6:30 p.m. game against the Jackson Rockabillys at Community Field. The event is sponsored by Des Moines County American Veterans (AMVETS) Post 29.

Fireworks will follow Monday’s game against the Clinton LumberKings. Monday’s first pitch is also set for 6:30 p.m.

The Bees are scheduled to play at Quincy Friday and Sunday nights.

In Thursday’s first game, Tanner Holland and Caleb Wulf both went 2-for-4 for the Bees. Holland had two RBIs.

A three-run fourth inning secured the victory. Drew Gaskins and Trent Rice both drew walks, then Holland singled to left field to drive in two runs. Holland scored when Springfield third baseman Daedrick Cail muffed Connor Laeng’s ground ball.
