
Marcene Kay Dowell, 75, of Burlington, died Friday, Dec. 10, 2021, at Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center.
Born Dec. 6, 1946, in Fairfield, she was the daughter of
Ralph Edward and Edna Margaret Brown Morris. She also had a
step-father, Eldon Briden.
Marcene attended Van Buren Community Schools and graduated in 1965.
She married Donald Lee Johnson; they divorced. She later married Kenneth Dowell.
Marcene was raised in the Stockport Christian Church.
She was a home health aide with Home Caring Services of Burlington.
Survivors include her sons, Brion Johnson of Tampa, Fla., and Darrin Johnson of Granger; daughters, Kim Johnson of Mount
Pleasant, Kami Johnson of Milan, Ill., and Kortni Kane of
Mediapolis; brothers, Ron Morris of Stockport and Terry Morris of Keosauqua; sister, Karee Johnson of Birmingham, Iowa;
16 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
The funeral service for Marcene will be Saturday, Dec. 18 at
1 p.m. at Lunning Chapel with the Reverend David Mixon officiating.
There will be a visitation Friday, Dec. 17 from noon to 7 p.m.
with the family receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m. at Lunning
Chapel. Burial will be in the Spencer Cemetery in Stockport.
A luncheon will be held following the graveside committal service at
the American Legion Hall, 112 E. Legion St., Stockport.
A memorial has been established for the Breast Cancer Awareness Fund.
