
Darrel Dean Adams, age 80, passed away on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at Mercy Southeast in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
On December 25, 1945, in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin he was born to the late Herold and Ethlyn Albright Adams.
He attended grade school in Danville, Iowa and graduated high school in Eddyville, Iowa. He then attended Calvary Bible College for a brief period.
Darrel was veteran of the United States Air Force, where he served during the Vietnam conflict in Norfolk, England.
Later Darrel married the love of his life, Patricia Sandy, in Burlington, Iowa on February 13, 1987.
Before retiring, Darrel had been a forklift operator for Gilster-Mary Lee.
In addition to his wife, Darrel is survived by his daughter Karen Flaner of the United Kingdom; one granddaughter Lucy Flaner; one sister Donna Brown of Huachuca City, Ariz., one very special friend of the family Taylor Pinkerton and her family, and many friends and extended family back in Iowa.
Darrel was a faithful member of Connection Point Church in Jackson, Mo. before his health made him unable to attend services in person.
A private inurnment will take place at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Mo. with full military honors.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the family for Darrel’s funeral expenses, C/O Patricia Adams.
