Jule A. Bardy, 81, of Burlington, died Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2023, at OakView Nursing Home and Rehabilitation in Burlington.

Born Sept. 11, 1942, in Superior, Wis., she was the daughter of Joseph John and Ann Agnes Stralka Sitek. On Sept. 23, 1972, she married the love of her life, David Charles Bardy in Superior, Wis. The couple met when the railroads they were working for merged in 1970. 

Jule worked at Burlington Northern Railroad for nine years, Kirlin's Hallmark for nine years, and at Target for nine years.

She was a member of SS. Mary and Patrick Catholic Church and the Altar and Rosary Society. She enjoyed knitting, playing cards, and going to the casino and she dearly loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband of 51 years, David Bardy of Burlington; son, Randy of Burnsville, Minn.; daughter, Wendy (Art) of North Liberty; three grandchildren, Christine, Eli and Evan; one great-granddaughter, Persephone; three brothers, Joseph (Mary) Sitek of Deluth, Minn., Daniel (Cheryl) Sitek of Superior, Wis., and Conrad (Julie) Sitek of Roseville, Minn.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her twin sister, Mary Kay Maki.

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.

The Memorial Mass of the Resurrection for Mrs. Bardy will be 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 4, 2023, at SS. Mary and Patrick Catholic Church, West Burlington. A time of food and fellowship will be held at the SS. Mary and Patrick Church Hall following the mass. Entombment will be in Burlington Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date.

A memorial has been established for Divine Mercy Parish.
