Elizabeth "Liz" Renner, 93, of Danville, died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2021. Liz resided at the Klein Center in West Burlington.

Born Nov. 11, 1927, in Morning Sun, she was the daughter of Lee Otis and Mable Ellen Stodgell. Liz was a reformed Presbyterian.

When she was 14, she went to school to learn to be a "farmette.” These young girls learned to drive tractors to fill in for the young men who had to go to war. Liz later earned her RN and was a clinical instructor at southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center.

On Oct. 4, 1948, she married Keith Burdette Renner in Nashua. He died Jan. 9, 2016. Keith and Liz lived on a farm southeast of Danville where they raised Angus cattle, sheep and hogs and grew corn and beans. Liz used her nursing skills to tend to all the animals.

Survivors include two sisters, Leota Pilling of Mediapolis and Helen Baum of Iowa City.

The graveside committal service for Mrs. Renner will be 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 15 at Jaggar Cemetery in Danville.
