Daniel E. Hummer, 70, passed away March 5, 2025, at his home. He was born August 16, 1954, in Anchorage, Alaska to Bernard P. and Patricia A. Sandberg Hummer.
Dan worked at Hardees when it was on Angular Street. His latest employment was at the Burlington Golf Club for the past 10 years.
Dan had a great love for animals, especially cats. He was always sure his cats were fed and taken care of, in addition he made sure all the stray cats in the neighborhood were fed and watered.
He is survived by his brothers Ronald Hummer and Craig Hummer of Burlington; sisters, Susan Hummer and Kelly Hummer of Burlington; four nephews; one special niece, Laura and one Uncle Wayne Hummer.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, one brother Tom Hummer and one nephew.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 25 at Lunning Chapel where the family will receive friends. Burial will follow at Burlington Memorial Park Cemetery.
Cremation has been accorded and entrusted to the care of Lunning Chapel.
