Jeanne Kay Stewart, 77, died Jan. 14, 2022, at Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center, West Burlington. The daughter of Vern Joseph and Helen Martha O’Grady Marler, she was born Nov. 13, 1944, in Estherville.
Jeanne graduated from Mount Ayr High School in 1963. She married Dean Stewart on Nov. 30, 1963, in Leon. In 1968, they moved to Burlington.
Jeanne worked in accounting at Lehigh Leopold for 22 years. After the Leopold closure, she moved to the Army Ammunition Plant accounting department for five years. She finished her career at Mt. Pleasant Warehouse working with Dean until they retired in 2007.
Jeanne spent 30 years supporting Moose Chapter 587. She held every office in the Women of the Moose and earned all her Moose Degrees.
Survivors include her husband; her two boys, Mike Stewart of West Burlington and Mark Stewart of Abilene, Texas; 14 grandchildren; numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren; two sisters; and one brother.
Per her wishes, cremation has been accorded and entrusted to Lunning Chapel. A celebration of life will be held April 9, 2022.
