Robert E. “Bob” Lehnherr, 63, of Mediapolis, died Monday, June 12, 2023, at the University of Iowa Hospital. Bob was born April 17, 1960, in Cedar Rapids, the son of John “Jack” Lehnherr and Beverly Heick Conner. He graduated from Mediapolis High School in 1978. Bob was united in marriage to Patricia “Patti” Murphy on March 25, 2000, at the Yarmouth School.
Bob owned and operated Bob’s Best Shot in Mediapolis since 1983. He also worked as a truck driver for local farmers and had various jobs in construction, concrete, and carpentry throughout the years. Bob was an avid NASCAR and Cardinals baseball fan. He enjoyed traveling and Ranger rides, but most of all, he enjoyed being around people whether it was meeting someone new or catching up with old friends. Bob was known for coming up with events for others to have fun and was truly a friend to everyone. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren and he spoiled them every chance he had.
Survivors include his wife; son, Erik (Erin) Allen of Cedar Rapids; daughter, Erin (Darren) Steffener of Mediapolis; grandchildren: Nathan, Jack, Ella, Audrey, Addison, and Jessica; siblings: Jan (Rich) Perrenoud of Mediapolis; Sue Johnson of Mediapolis; Mike (Lisa) Lehnherr of Freeport, Ill.; and Dave Conner of Des Moines; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Floyd Conner; brother, John Lehnherr II; niece, Ashley Fuller; brother-in-law, D.J. Johnson; best friend, Charby; and his spoiled yellow lab, Cory.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, June 16, 2023, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Yarmouth School. Interment will be held at Kossuth Cemetery at a later date. A general memorial has been established in Bob’s memory and contributions will be made to the various charities Bob was involved in.
