Alfred C. Nellor, 101, of Mount Pleasant, formerly of Burlington, died Saturday, Dec. 11, 2021, at New London Nursing and Rehab.
Born March 30, 1920, in Beemer, Neb., he was the son of Frank Charles
and Hattie Anna Frahm Nellor. On March 30, 1947, he married Virginia Lee
Peterson in Des Moines. She passed away on June 14, 2018.
He graduated in 1937 from Beemer High School and served in the United States Navy.
Alfred worked in Beemers grocery store, for the US Navy three years working on airplanes at Lockheed, and for the National Cash Register Company for 30 years.
Survivors include two daughters, Dorene Jennings of Austin, Texas and Debora Edmunds of Los Angeles, Calif.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.
The memorial service for Alfred will be 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 19 at Prugh-Thielen Funeral Home with Pastor Stan Smelser officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established for the Fisher House Foundation and the Des Moines County Humane Society.
