Mrs. Jacqueline A. Nelson, 78, of Burlington, died Thursday, Nov. 11, 2021, at the OakView Nursing Home and Rehabilitation in Burlington.
Born June 5, 1943, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Merle and Geraldine Allendorf Roasa Boyle Mauer. She graduated from Notre Dame High School in 1961. On Feb. 18, 1966, she married Jerry Lee Nelson in Biggsville. He preceded her in death on Aug. 1, 2014.
Jackie served as a legal advocate beginning in 2002 for the YWCA Domestic Violence Shelter and Women's Resource Center, retiring in 2014.
Survivors include two daughters, Stacey L. Meyer and Lynnie Krogmeier, two grandchildren, and two great-grandsons, all of Burlington.
Per Jackie's wishes cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory. The family will hold a private inurnment at Aspen Grove Cemetery.
For friends that would like to honor Jackie's memory, the family is suggesting a donation be made to a charity of their choice.
