Jenny Minard, 40, of Burlington, went to be with her Lord Thursday evening, July 18, 2024.

Jenny was born on Oct. 2, 1983, in Marinette, Wis. She was the daughter of Tim and Becky Simpson Ahern. She was a 2002 graduate of Burlington High School, a 2004 graduate of Southeastern Community College, and a 2006 graduate of Iowa Wesleyan College. Jenny completed a degree at Hallmark Institute of Photography in 2009.

On June 24, 2006, Jenny married Andrew J. Minard in Mount Pleasant. Jenny was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Burlington where she was very active, serving in music and children’s ministries.

She was a music educator with the Burlington Community School District, an avid photographer, and loved being an entrepreneur, beginning businesses in crafts, photography, and curriculum, among others. Most recently, Jenny was a director/curriculum writer for her home-schooling community.

Jenny enjoyed many hobbies including scrapbooking, sewing, knitting, quilting, and gardening. She was also a talented musician. Not only did she sing and play, Jenny enjoyed arranging and conducting. Jenny was also athletic. She enjoyed softball, basketball and soccer as a child. She played soccer in high school and was a pinch hitter and back-up catcher for the Southeastern Community College girls’ softball team when they won the national championship. She loved to play board games and always looked forward to family get-togethers where games would abound along with Jenny’s famous laugh.

Survivors include her husband Dr. Andrew Minard; her four children: Lincoln, Griffin, Truly and Ozzie all of Burlington; her parents: Tim and Becky Ahern of MountPleasant; three sisters: Julie (Kevin) Dameron of Mount Pleasant, Betsi (Blake) Smith of Mediapolis and Katie (John) Loyd of Mexico, Mo. Jenny is also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Jenny was preceded in death by her grandparents and son, Gabriel Joseph Minard.

Visitation will be held Thursday, July 25, 2024 from 3 to 7 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church in Burlington where the family will be present from 4 to 6 p.m. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, July 26, 2024, at Calvary Baptist Church in Burlington with Pastor Simeon Counterman officiating. Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established for the children's educations.
