James Fageol, 69, of Burlington, Iowa, died Wednesday, June 4, 2026, at New London Specialty Care Center in New London, Iowa.
Born on March 23, 1957, in Hannibal, Missouri, he was the son of Floyd W. and Mildred V. Borden Fageol.
Jim worked for Happy Joe’s for many years where he retired from. He was a Friend of the Library in Burlington and Fort Madison Public Libraries. In his free time, he loved to relax with a good book. Jim had a plethora of books in his collection but his favorite genre was non-fiction history or mystery. He was an honest and direct friend with a warm and loving heart. Jim always enjoyed spending time with his family who meant the most to him.
He is survived by his two brothers: David Fageol of Fort Madison, Iowa and John Fageol of Burlington, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Mark Fageol.
Per his wishes cremation has been entrusted and accorded to the care of Lunning Chapel.
Burial will be held in Aspen Grove Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 10, 2026, where the family will have a time of remembrance and sharing.
