Richard Wayne Nehring, 59, of Burlington, died Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at his home.

Born March 23, 1965, in Marshalltown, he was the son of Calvin Nehring and Diana Schutt Schnelle. On July 17, 1993, he married Debra in Marshalltown. 

Richard worked primarily as a tool and dye maker. He also worked for Greater Burlington sports facility. 

He attended Iowa River Church-The Brethren. He enjoyed racing, fishing, camping, spending time with family, giving family a hard time, spending time at his table, and collecting knives. He was an avid Chicago Bears fan. 

Survivors include his wife, Debra Nehring; three sons, Cody (Paige) Nehring, Travis (Emilee) Nehring, and Kevin (Kristina) Peak; four grandchildren, Rorick Wayne Nehring, Lilith Nehring, Tayden Peak, and Trystan Peak; three grandpets, Remi, Cat, and Rider; his father, Calvin Nehring; step-father, Bruce Schnelle; two sisters, Sherry (Scott) Vaughn, and Kim (David) Ryan, two brothers, Scott Jorgensen, and Jeff (Heather) Nehring; one uncle; Craig (Patty) Schutt, several nieces and nephews; father-in-law, Jerry (Kathy) Waterman;  and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, mother, step-mother, and one brother-in-law. 

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.

There will be no services at this time.
